WHAT IS CACAO?

Cacao, sourced from the seeds of the Theobroma cacao tree, is the base of chocolate and has a rich history in both culinary and ceremonial uses. Grown in tropical regions, it’s processed into cocoa powder, butter, and chocolate. Cacao is known for its health benefits, including antioxidants and essential minerals. Ceremonially, cacao has been used for centuries by Mesoamerican cultures, such as the Aztecs and Mayans, as a sacred drink in rituals for spiritual connection, healing, and honoring deities. Today, cacao is still used in modern spiritual practices, often consumed in cacao ceremonies to promote mindfulness, heart-opening, and emotional healing.
